Information about opening of the school year 2023/2024

Dear parents and students,

the ceremonial opening of the school year will take place in the school yard on Monday, September 4, 2023, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The students from 2nd grade to 9th grade will arrive to school no later than 7:50 a.m. and they will go to their classes. Our assistants will take care of the students of these grades who are new to our school at the school entrance, and will lead them to their classes.

The first-grade students and their parents/guardians will come to the entrance, where the students will be picked up by their teachers, and the parents/ guardians can go to the school yard. Please, arrive in advance, so that the opening ceremony can start at 8:00 a.m.

The list of the first-grade students and their division into the first-grade classes will be placed on the main school door entrance. After the opening ceremony in the schoolyard, the first-grade students and their parents/companions will go to the classrooms.  There, the main important introductory information will be shared (we expect to finish around 10:00 a.m.).

In case of bad weather, the start will take place in individual classes.

The organization of the first school week:

Monday:

• all students will have two lessons with their classroom teachers. After those they go for lunch or to the after-school club.

Tuesday:

• classes 1.A+1.B will have 3 lessons with their room teachers (8:00 – 10:45a.m.)

• the rest of the first-grade classes will have 4 lessons with their classroom teachers

• 6th to 9th grade students will have 5 lessons, of which the first 2 lessons are with classroom teachers, after that follows their normal schedule

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday:

• all classes will be taught according to their regular schedule, but all classes finish at 1:40 p.m. (no afternoon classes yet)

From Monday, September 11th, all classes will follow the full regular schedule.

The morning and the afternoon school club will be open in the usual hours (it starts at 6:30 a.m. and it ends at 5:30 p.m.).
